All-in-One Computer Repair — FAQ

No picture: is it the screen or the computer?

It can be either. A black screen can come from the display, its cable, the graphics or the power. We test them in turn before replacing anything, and the written estimate says which has failed.

Can the screen on an all-in-one be replaced?

In most all-in-ones the screen is a part of its own that can be replaced, but it is the largest part of the computer and often the costliest. The written estimate says what yours needs, so you can weigh it against a new computer.

What should I bring?

The computer and its power adapter. The keyboard and mouse can stay at home unless the problem is with them.

Is it worth repairing an all-in-one?

Weigh the written estimate against the price of a new computer, and check that yours still gets Windows or macOS updates. A repair usually makes sense on a recent all-in-one, and less so on an old one.

How long does it take?

Most common repairs take between an hour and a day when the part is in stock. If it has to be ordered, we give you the expected time with your written estimate, before you approve the repair.

How much does it cost?

It depends on what has failed. You get a written estimate before any repair, and no repair starts until you approve it.
