Lenovo batteries: what the settings and warnings mean
Charging stops at 60% or 80%
Lenovo Vantage has a Conservation Mode on IdeaPad and Yoga laptops, and a charge threshold on ThinkPads, that deliberately stop charging before 100% to slow battery wear. A battery that “won’t charge past 60%” is often this setting, not a fault.
Battery health in Lenovo Vantage
Vantage lists the battery’s condition, its cycle count and how much of its original capacity it still holds — enough to tell a worn battery from a charger or software problem.
ThinkPads with two batteries
Some ThinkPad T and X series models have an internal battery as well as a removable one. When only one of them has failed, the laptop can seem fine and then shut off the moment the other is removed or runs flat.

Lenovo Battery Replacement — FAQ
Is my Lenovo battery covered by warranty?
Batteries can have different coverage than the rest of the laptop. We check yours for you.
Is a swollen battery dangerous?
Yes. Stop charging it and bring it in.
Do you use genuine batteries?
Under warranty, always. Out of warranty, you choose: a genuine Lenovo battery or an aftermarket one. We send you the quote first and start the repair only once you approve it.
